ENERGY STAR PARTICIPATION
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® program is designed to help property owners identify and implement superior energy efficiency practices and track their buildings’ performance through the use of an extensive online benchmarking tool. Those properties that score a performance level of 75 or above (on a 1-100 scale) are eligible to receive the EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification. According to the EPA, ENERGY STAR-certified buildings use 35% less energy and cause 35% fewer greenhouse gases emissions than their peers, on average.
We track the performance of our entire portfolio through the ENERGY STAR program and are proud that the majority of the office buildings in our portfolio are ENERGY STAR-certified for superior energy efficiency, responsible water usage, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. We intend to maintain and/or pursue ENERGY STAR certification for all properties for which it is feasible, in order to ensure our stakeholders that we are delivering superior performance and optimal operating efficiency.
In 2021, we earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award, the highest level of EPA recognition for our corporate energy management programs.
