The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact daily life for millions around the globe, with an ever-evolving host of related risks, regulations, and safety recommendations.
We at Columbia Property Trust continually monitor this evolution and adapt our programmatic response to help ensure the workplace safety of our employees and our tenants in each of our buildings, and business continuity for all our stakeholders. We continue to follow the CDC's guidelines and recommendations to help prevent exposure and spread of the virus and to comply with the various restrictions and guidelines imposed by the State Department and local governments in our areas of operation, along with many other business continuity measures.

We collaborate with partners, tenants, and vendors to drive environmental sustainability, foster a productive workplace, and provide modern amenities and technologies.
We establish and maintain strong tenant relationships at the property level through meetings, communications, programs and events, and we ensure responsive and exceptional levels of service by all team members and extended service providers. Examples include the implementation of property-wide efforts that facilitate high tenant engagement, such as sustainability efforts, volunteer and charitable efforts, community involvement, industry involvement, and support of local businesses.
In 2020, we launched Columbia Gateway, an app powered by proptech leader HqO at properties across our portfolio. This platform – available free to any tenant employee who offices at one of our participating properties – enables tenant team members to engage with our property management teams, fully utilize their building amenities, and access an informational hub for all community and sustainability initiatives at the property.
Columbia Cares: Charitable Contribution and Community Engagement Program
As part of our governance of Columbia’s philanthropic program, we have established an internal review board to consider the opportunities our company has to fulfill our philanthropic goals.
In addition to reviewing organizations against our strategic areas of focus, we also consider the following primary objectives when evaluating opportunities to devote any of the company’s money or our employees’ time to charitable endeavors:
- First and foremost, we recognize that we are fiduciaries of our investors’ capital. We will approach this process with discipline.
- Columbia is dedicated to supporting the communities we serve, as well as the philosophy of “People Helping People.”
- Columbia supports charitable organizations that enhance the lives of our constituents and the communities in which they work and live.
